DL GERMANY, SPECIAL EVENT STATION
    DM152ZYA will be QRV in CW, SSB and digital modes on 80m-70cm between Apr 30 and Dec 31.
    This special event station remembers the rollout and maiden flight of the first German
    passenger jet which was built in Dresden 50 years ago. The callsign DM152ZYA includes
    parts of the original callsign of the very first prototype DM-ZYA and the airplane model
    number "152". We hand out the special DOK 50ZYA and all QSOs will be confirmed via
    bureau automatically after the operation has ended on Dec 31, 2008.

EU-016 Susac Island
     The IOCA Group (9A2WJ, 9A3KB, 9A6AA,DF9MV, DE0MST, DK1ROB, DL5MFL) also plans to
     activate Susac Island (CI-109) signing 9A0CI from May 2-9. A few OMs are also using

EU-021 ICELAND (Also OY)
     Before starting his Iceland activity, Al, LA9SN, will do a one day operation from
     Faroe Islands (OY, EU-018) on April 28th.From there, he will travel to the Westman
     Islands (TF7, EU-071), and be active between May 1-8th. He will then be active from
     the main island of Iceland (EU-021), May 9-13th. Activity will be on CW and SSB from
     his car usinga vertical antenna and high power. Watch around the usual IOTA frequencies.

 Japanese Radio Hams get additional 80 Metre frequencies

On Monday 28th April, Radio Amateurs in Japan were given additional frequencies in the
80 metre co-primary shared band.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) made a public announcement that
the domestic Table of Frequency Allocations and the Japanese Amateur Bandplan had been
amended.
Japanese radio amateurs are now allowed to operate on the following additional frequencies
 on 80/75 meters band;
3 599 to 3 612 kHz, 3 680 to 3 687 kHz, 3 702 to 3 716 kHz, 3 745 to 3 747 kHz and
3 754 to 3 770 kHz.
As the result, from April 28, 2008, JA amateurs will be on;

3 500 to 3 575 kHz
3 599 to 3 612 kHz
3 680 to 3 687 kHz
3 702 to 3 716 kHz
3 745 to 3 770 kHz
3 791 to 3 805 kHz

Апелляционный суд округа Колумбия поддержал Американскую лигу радиолюбителей (AARL), которая
настаивает на том, что Федеральная комиссия по связи США (FCC) приняла некорректные
нормативные документы в отношении технологии предоставления доступа в интернет по
электропроводке.
Технология "интернет из розетки"(Broadband Over Power Line, BPL) позиционируется в качестве
альтернативы традиционным кабельным и DSL-соединениям. К плюсам системы BPL можно отнести
относительно невысокую стоимость и простоту подключения, а также широкую зону охвата, что
объясняется использованием уже готовой инфраструктуры электросетей.
Однако у технологии BPL есть и противники. Дело в том, что передача данных по линиям
электропроводки приводит к появлению помех в радиочастотном диапазоне.
Поэтому против использования такого типа интернет-коммуникаций выступают некоторые
организации, а также радиолюбители.
При разработке нормативных документов касательно технологии "интернет из розетки"
Федеральная комиссия по связи США использовала результаты пяти независимых исследований.
Данные этих исследований, как того и требует законодательство, были представлены
общественности. Но, как утверждает Американская лига радиолюбителей, часть важной
информации все же была сокрыта. Причем все попытки AARL решить проблему мирным путем
провалились, и лига радиолюбителей была вынуждена обратиться в суд.
Как теперь сообщает (1) ArsTechnica, при рассмотрении дела апелляционный суд пришел к выводу,
что FCC допустила ошибку в процессе нормотворчества. Суд постановил, что FCC обязана раскрыть
все детали исследований, результаты которых принимались во внимание при разработке нормативных
документов. Кроме того, суд не удовлетворили критерии FCC для определения недопустимого уровня
помех, к появлению которых могут приводить линии BPL. Не исключено, что теперь FCC придется
внести поправки в нормативные акты.

 70 MHz Permits in Italy April 30th - December 31st

The authorization for a second 70MHz Amateur Radio experimental campaign in Italy has been
granted from April 30th 2008.
The first experimental period ran from July 12th 2007 to December 31st 2007.
The second experimental period lasts from April 30th until December 31st 2008 covering the
Sporadic-E season which is just starting.
The technical parameters and the operational conditions are the same as for the 2007
experiment which were:
Modes: all (SSB, CW, AM, FM, RTTY, digital modes, etc.)
Frequencies:
70.100 MHz ± 12.5 kHz
70.200 MHz ± 12.5 kHz
70.300 MHz ± 12.5 kHz
Maximum RF power: 25W EIRP
Operational area: the whole italian territory except for a 30 km strip from the Austria,
